Sometimes the benefits take a long time to emerge...

I've been emailing with a friend this week about big things that are going on in our lives - things that we don't share about in detail online - things to do with people around us.

I ended our last email with the line: "Only good things come when we get sober.. but they do take a long time sometimes"

It got me thinking ... and so yesterday I wrote this post at Living Sober.

(This is a reminder that Living Sober is where I am doing most of my writing on sobriety nowadays).

Love, Mrs D xxx

    1. Dear anonymous.. sorry to hear that you are struggling. I know that awful struggling desperate-to-drink-alcohol feeling and it is not fun at all. Come over to Living Sober and talk to the many other people who are going through the same shit as you trying to get booze out of their lives. I'm in there every day talking to people too.. it's a very simple website.. if you register to join you get into the 'Members Feed' which is one scrolling feed that updates every time a new member posts an update at the top. So it slowly moves along with people getting many lovely kind and non-judgemental replies to their updates. It really works. www.livingsober.org.nz Hope to see you there and look forward to you joining the ranks of brave and amazing sober people. You can!! xxx

I have moved up north for the most fabulous job as a swim teacher- have been a primary teacher down in Blenheim but quit due to really the booze- love my job so much but its got to the point where I could lose it too. How can someone with 2degrees plus trained teacher be so slow! I will join up as I really feel so isolated in a new town-that isnt that big-plus side is all shops shut at 8 so no chance of going out after that really:)
